Wheel Center Cap Installation & Fitment Guide
SpinLab floating wheel center caps install the same simple way as your factory caps — they push into the center bore of your wheel and the logo stays upright while you drive. This guide walks you through the tools, step-by-step installation, removal, sizing, and how to check fitment before you order.
What you'll need
- A clean cloth
- A little soapy water (optional — eases a tight push)
- A plastic pry tool or spudger (for removing your old caps)
- About 5 minutes per wheel
Before you start: these caps are made for OEM wheels
Unless a product listing states otherwise, every SpinLab cap is designed to fit the original (OEM) wheels for that brand and size. If your car runs aftermarket, replica or refurbished wheels, the center bore can differ from factory — always measure first (see sizing below) before ordering.
Step-by-step installation
- Remove your old factory cap. Gently pry it out with a plastic tool, or take the wheel off and tap the cap out from behind. Never push a metal screwdriver straight against the wheel face — tape the area or use a plastic tool to protect the clear coat.
- Clean the center bore. Wipe away brake dust and dirt so the new cap seats cleanly.
- Line up the cap squarely with the center bore.
- Push firmly and evenly until the cap clicks and sits flush. A drop of soapy water helps on tight fits. Fit the caps in a warm space — plastic shrinks in the cold and is harder to seat.
- Check the result. The cap should sit flush with the wheel, and the SpinLab logo should swing freely so it self-levels as you drive.
Removing a SpinLab cap (for tire changes)
Never pry or lever a SpinLab cap out from the front — it can snap in half. Remove it only by taking the wheel off and pushing the cap out from behind. The protective cover on the back of the cap gives you a firm surface to push against, which makes removal easy. Support the cap as it comes free so it doesn't drop.
Sizing — measure before you order
- BMW: 68mm (fits most 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 Series and X models) or 56mm (select models and aftermarket alloys)
- Mercedes-Benz: 75mm
Measure the outer diameter of your existing center cap — the edge that sits inside the bore. Also check depth: you need at least 30mm (3cm) of inner clearance behind the cap so the counterweight capsule fits.

Fitment disclaimer
Wheel and center-bore dimensions vary between models, production years, and aftermarket or replica wheels. We cannot guarantee that any given cap will fit your specific wheels. Fitment is the buyer's responsibility: always measure your center cap diameter and inner depth and confirm compatibility before ordering. SpinLab is not responsible for caps ordered in the wrong size or for wheels that differ from factory OEM specification.
